Here's a couple of clips John Menich recorded of his scratch build 18 Watt LiteIIb "Baby Will" (version 2.3).
This his how he describes the setup...
"This was recorded using a Fender MIM Strat direct
into the Parallel input of the amp. The tone control was on around 3 and the
volume was dimed. The amp was connected into a newer Marshall 1936 cabinet with
Weber ceramic Blue Dogs. There are two guitar tracks and each was recorded with
a Audix i5 up close on the speaker edge and a MXL V63M about 6 ft out and facing
away from the cabinet. The rhythm track was recorded using positions 4 and 5 of
the Strat. The melody/lead track was recorded using positions 1 and 2."John Menich 01 Boom Boom.mp3"Les Paul into the 18 watter. Single channel on
about 6 for volume (Malcolm) in the left side and parallel channel full on
(Angus) into the right side." Here are a couple clips of Simon Higgs' 18 Watt LiteIIB "Baby Will" he recorded at the Winter NAMM 2009. Thanks for the great clips Simon.
